Installing Apache, MySQL and PHP Engine

Author: Dev | Files under Apache, MySQL, PHP

As we know PHP Engine is itself cannot handle all the tasks of a web server and needs Apache Web Server and MySQL Database Server in co-laboration with it.
So, lets know how do we do this in Windows OS and Linux OS.

Installing Apache-MySQL-PHP Using WAMP Under Windows

For Windows Operating System, we can get a freely available pack of all the three servers Apache, MySQL and PHP as WAMP (Windows-Apache-MySQL-PHP) developed by WampServer.com. Once WAMP is installed we can have a fully working web server to run PHP pages.

Installing and running WAMP is as simple as 1-2-3:

  1. Download latest version WAMP from here : Download WAMPServer
  2. Installing WAMPServer. Open the downloaded file and you can almost leave all installation steps as default unless you know what your doing.
  3. And, finally run the WAMP Server from Start Menu and make sure WAMP is fully running on your System Tray when ever you are working on PHP. Below is the snapshot of WAMPServer running in System Tray (Right-click on the WAMP tray icon to get this menu).

Hope this works good for you. If not leave a comment on your problem. Happy learning PHP.
